Kitts Cottage Rural With Woodburner Dogs Welcome central Cornwall Near Redruth
This charming, traditional Cornish miners’ cottage is situated on the top of a hill and has outstanding country views.
It is set in its own spacious garden, with a bridleway running next to it, and is secluded and peaceful.
The area has many miles of beautiful walks right outside the door. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome.
I won’t be available in person and prefer communicating through the app. gardener could be on side on arrival or departure days
Walk out of the cottage garden, and you are immediately on a bridlepath. The area is perfect for walking, and you can walk for hours in most directions without meeting a busy road, which is great if your dog is with you. It’s a great area for exploring on foot or bike, and right on top of the hill is a lake.
The small village of Carharrack is about one mile away, which can be reached by road or footpaths, and there is a small convenience store there for everyday items. They can deliver on certain days, and the contact number is on the small notice board in the kitchen. Carharrack also has a very large play area for children.
The nearest town to the cottage is Redruth, which is approximately three miles away by car. There’s a good range of stores and the Post Office as well as many places to eat, Redruth has many buildings of outstanding beauty and craftsmanship as well as Victoria Park which has lovely gardens and a children’s play area. Dogs must be on a lead there.
Carharrack Feed Store is about a mile away, and they stock a good range of dog food, including raw dog food, dog treats, toys, and accessories. You also purchase some logs there.
Local pubs include The Fox and Hounds at Comford serve a good tasty roast.
Truro is well worth a visit; there’s a park and ride available on the outskirts of the city, which takes away the worry of parking. The cathedral is beautiful. There is a large variety of shops with many of the big brand names there.
By car through a bumpy path.
The postcode isTR16 5HJ, but this may take you to the other end of Carnmarth Hill, so it is best to find Carharrack village, then from Carharrack village head onto Pennance road. After you pass the houses on the right and it opens out to countryside. You will see a sign for Shute Hill, go strait through Shute Hill and turn right at the next cross road , this is signed ”Sunrise Hill “. As you near the top of the hill you will see a sign for sunrise cottage on your right, take the lane to the left of this, with the sign for “Kitts Cottage”. Follow the lane past the “no vehicle access” sign and take the first Turning on your right which will take you to the gate of Kitts Cottage.
The lane is an unmade road and quite bumpy, so best it take slowly

Exposed beams overlook the room, and slate flooring paves the way towards the modern kitchen which also features a breakfast table.
A shower room completes the ground floor.
Open-tread stairs reveal a unique double bedroom, laced in a traditional overtone, with relaxing views and bold stone work.
Bedside tables are well-coordinated and an all-round enchanting feel ensures a peaceful night’s sleep.
Enjoy the grounds outside, perhaps settle down at the picnic table for a delicious breakfast, or take a stroll around the secluded area and its walking trails.
The beach at Portreath is a 10-minute drive, or 2.5 miles from Redruth.
The entire stunning North Coast is a suburb playground for surfing and water sports, with resorts such as St Ives, Falmouth, the Roseland Peninsula and the whole Lizard Peninsula within easy reach.

You will definitely need a car.
Redruth station is the closest to the cottage, but sadly, there are no bus routes that go near the cottage, but the train can be handy to go to Truro or other places.
It is possible to buy a ‘go anywhere’ bus ticket for £5 a day, which could be a good way to just explore!
There are so many interesting places to visit in Cornwall, and there are some brochures on top of the Cornish stove in the lounge.
